Meaning Making Machines – A Process

A Little Awareness

We are meaning-making machines. What are you making your life experiences mean? Let’s spend some time reconditioning thinking patterns to create avenues for new thinking, behaviors, and habits which support you.

A question I get asked often is: How do I learn to become aware of myself?  This is a great question, and my first answer is always an action because I learn best by doing.  So now,  “Close your eyes and take the deepest breath you can and hold it until you can’t hold it any longer, then extend it one more second, now, let it out.

How do you feel? Mind, body, spirit?

Notice your mind, your physical body, and all its parts and pieces.  Notice any sensations you may be feeling.

Remember, you are energy. Tuning in to your frequency allows you to adjust as needed to achieve the desired outcome.

The beginning of self-awareness is breathing. As Eckhart Tolle teaches us, “be here now.”

Now that this doorway is beginning to open pay attention to and notice all which is happening in your body, with your mind, your feelings. See yourself noticing yourself. This understanding is the beginning of self-awareness. When you are in this space, it is easier to see. Pause for a moment and breathe.   From this expanse of being aware of yourself, pay special attention to circumstances in your life that have had a huge impact on you.

Spend the next 15 minutes thinking about the significant life events which impacted you and changed you. (Don’t go somewhere you feel traumatized if you are alone or have not addressed this trauma already).

Pay special attention to the experiences that had the most positive effect and outcome and transform you somehow.

Positive Experiences       Negative Experiences

Now, remark on any “aha” moments you had in Your notes, take another 10 minutes to jot down the reasons and circumstances which led you here today to read this. You are here for a reason.

There are no “accidents” You made choices recently which brought you to this destination. So pause and ask yourself the following questions:

When answering them, please do not second guess yourself. Allow whatever is true for you at this time to emerge.

Mindfulness

5. What do I love about myself?

The constant questions we ask ourselves determine the quality of life we live; you deserve the best! Don’t be afraid to dive deep; ask the questions and honor your answers.
