We can look at our lives as the journey of discovering ourselves, those we love, and our gifts and passions.
The best way to begin the journey of finding yourself on a new level is to ask questions like: Who am I? What brings me peace? What lights me up and inspires me? Who do I love? How can I turn my pain into power?
To access your gifts and talents and to transform your adversities into possibilities, you must be a seeker of knowing thyself. The first step in this process is to be willing and receptive to having a relationship with yourself. This is step one in turning your pain into your purpose and your power.
Paying attention to the good things which emerge from your adversities, as well as the blessings in disguise which you experienced along the way are two of the best ways to find out what gifts, strengths, and talents are within you. For example, my mother passing away at an early age instilled a high level of compassion in me. This has fueled my life’s passion for healing others. The adversity of my mother’s car accident presented me with the opportunity to know my strengths, my boundaries, and sincere empathy in a way I never even imagined wanting. How have your adversities informed who you are today? What do you like about yourself because of those difficulties?
How have your adversities informed who you are today? What do you like about yourself because of those difficulties?
The quality of the questions we ask determines the quality of the lives we live.
How did you get here? What pathway did you take and what were the gifts of that journey? What did you learn about yourself? What do you know now that you didn’t before, because of this trip? It is essential for you to know that each stepping stone, every experience is a piece of your voyage and there for your development. As Ram Dass teaches us,
“Everything in your life is there as a vehicle for your transformation.
Use it!” ~ Ram Dass
Now is the time to follow through on what you know to be true. Trust your positive, inner wisdom and knowing, it is there to guide you.
Warmly and brightly,
Shajen
